This report highlights the benefits that the United States receives from immigrants’ business owners by reviewing the Fortune 500, which is a list of companies that help define the American economy. Fortune Magazine annually creates a list of the top American companies based on revenue. Companies that occupy the list include: Ford, AT&T, Google, McDonalds, Home Depot, Disney, Hertz, Estee Lauder, etc., accompany America’s leading role in the global marketplace.
Along with 200 other companies in the Fortune 500 list of 2010, these iconic American companies listed above are classified as “New American” companies, meaning that they were founded by immigrants or their children (2nd generation immigrants). This report analyses the impact that immigrant entrepreneurs have had on the American economy, the millions of workers of all industry sectors, and overall prosperity of America. It also emphasizes the opportunities America may lose if future entrepreneurs of “New American” companies decide to begin their businesses in another country. |
